Get Involved

Give ~ A key purpose of the Friends of Hidden Pond Nature Center is to provide financial support to enhance the programs of and improve the parklands around Hidden Pond Nature Center. Friends of Hidden Pond Nature Center offers annual membership for a modest contribution of $10 per person. Members receive the quarterly newsletter, Ripples. We invite you to join us by completing this membership form or visiting the nature center to join.

Vounteer ~ Volunteers, young and old, dedicate thousands of hours each year at the nature center. You’ll find them engaged in everything from caring for the live critters, leading walks, helping with school programs, clearing trails, to speaking at public hearings and publicizing the wonderful happenings at the nature center. If you want to get involved, contact the nature center manager at 703-451-9588. We’d love to have you here!

When you visit the nature center, chances are you’ll be greeted by the fresh faces and enthusiasm of our teen volunteers. Working side by side with the staff naturalists, these youthful volunteers learn, teach, and lead. Hidden Pond Nature Center is also a proud supporter of the Canon Envirothon Challenge for teens.

Many adults volunteers begin their training by participating in the excellent Virginia Master Naturalist Program where they become knowledgable about northern Virginia’s habitats and wildlife.
